Roses for the fallen
Placed on every grave
Red and green for every single
Life I could not save.
You told me that you loved me
But now in life there’s only rain
I never thought that you could die
Yet by your own hand you lie slain.
I loved you more than life itself
You were all I hoped to be
Never once did I imagine
That pain was all you see.
Now you’re worlds away from me
So I’m left standing in a storm
Singing silent requiems
For your newly lifeless form.
If I had only known the way you felt
I’d live to see you smile
You always kept me safe and warm
In a world that felt so vile.
I know one day we’ll meet again
Of that they always say
But, my dear, that does not change
How much I’ll miss you every day.
