I hate how much I love you.

The more you talk, the more that I become addicted to the pain.

Your wit, your style, your siren song will make me go insane.

The more I try, the more you fight, baring your gritted teeth.

I sheath my sword, abandon ship, and you come chasing after me.

My bark is no match for your bite, you mention with a grin.

In your embrace I fight no more, and know I’ll never win.

“We’re meant to be,” you say quite sure, as liars often do,

but I see the knife behind your back, and know my foil is you.

You’ll bury me beneath the land with all your broken toys,

and sing a song about a man you slaughtered like a boy.

I hate how much I love you.

I WON CRAP.

I’d totally forgotten about the fact that my stories were in the running for different awards on a Pokemon fanfic site. Since my stuff isn’t even remotely related to that fandom, I assumed that all my work would be forgotten and I wouldn’t get anything. However, that apparently wasn’t the case. Just went and checked it out, and my short story, “Who Do You Think You Are?” not only won best non-pokemon one shot by taking 50% of the vote, but its ending also somehow managed to make it to first place for the most heartbreaking scene and the relationship inside of it was tied for third best romantic relationship! SKDFAJFASKDFJS. 

As for my other story, “Wendigo”, (which is actually the first short story I ever wrote) it took both second and third for most frightening scenes as well as third place for best horror story. asdkfjasdf. I don’t even know what to say. I didn’t even think I’d win anything, but apparently more people read my stuff than I thought. :D I apparently won a couple of other things as well. 

Who Do You Think You Are?

  • 1st place - Best Non-Pokemon One shot.
  • 1st place - Most Heartbreaking scene
  • 3rd place (tie) - Best Romantic Relationship. 
  • 6th place (8 spots total) - Most Heartbreaking story

Wendigo

  • 2nd place - Most Frightening Scene
  • 3rd place - Most Frightening Scene (two different scenes)
  • 3rd place - Best Horror Story

Just found out an old short story of mine won an award.

Woo hoo! :D When I wrote Who Do You Think You Are? I just wanted to make a point to people. I had no idea the Serebii community would remember it, like, a year later and nominate it for a million categories of awesomeness in the huge ‘fic awards of 2011. 

Not all the voting is underway, but I’ve already been informed that Who Do You Think You Are? has received the honor of winning “Best over-all non-Pokémon One-shot of 2011.” <3 Never won a huge award for anything I’ve written before, so I’m ecstatic. Plus, voting isn’t over - it’s still nominated for Best Romantic Relationship, Most Heartbreaking Story, and Most Heartbreaking Scene.

Meanwhile, the first story I ever wrote, Wendigo, has three nominations; Best Horror Fic, and two for Most Frightening Scenes. That one really threw me off, since it’s not even a fanfic. The fact anyone there read it/remembered it was huge, and it’s the only non-fanfic to actually be nominated for those categories. Apparently, my shoddy writing scared people more than I thought it would. Lol. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now. :P Yay! Especially since they aren’t even fanfics. They’re legit short stories. Right when I was feeling down about my writing, too… xD Perfect day is perfect.

/cue hipster victory dance.
